Maldives Island
I find it so facinating to see what different countries visit my blog. Some places I've never heard of before.
One day I saw Maldives pop up and I had to Google to find out where this place was located. It turns out to look like an amazing place I may want to visit one day.
Here's a bit of a description about the islands:
The Maldives are a group of islands totalling 1190! Most of these islands are not inhabited and are very small. Out of all of them, only around 200 are inhabited and out of these many of them are exclusively tourists’ resorts. It is located in the southern part of the Indian ocean about 400 miles south west of India.
Characteristics
If you are a person who loves the open seas and enjoys crystal clear waters, then visiting the Maldives is a must. The islands are made up of coral reefs which give it excellent scuba diving opportunities. Because of its geographic location, which is not far from the equator, the weather is predictably tropic. The beaches can boast of sparkling white sand and palm laced water fronts. All of the islands sit atop an atoll. Religions such as Buddhism and Islam exist side by side.

The Climb
Music and inspirational lyrics always keeps me on the go and motivated. I love the lyrics to this song as it's so true in life so I've captured it below.
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on
'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!
Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

Hope for Japan
The destructive power of mother nature has left Japan in the most unimaginable state. One can only move forward by continuing to find survivors and miracles.
- Amid the silent corpses a baby cried out - and Japan met its tiniest miracle, a 4 month old baby
- Rescuers found the 70-year-old alive inside her home four days after the black tidal wave wiped out much of the region
- 60-year old Hiromitsu Shinkawa survived two days at sea by clinging on to his floating rooftop

Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):
We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.
He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.
Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.
Where?
Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.
The dog is protecting him.
Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.
I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.
Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.
Yes! Yes! He is alive.
He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.
Oh good. He's getting up.
It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

The Power of Pulling Together
You may have heard the quote...
"It's not what you say, but how you say it, that turns the switch from 'off' to 'on'."
This movie is one of those times. In just 3 minutes it captures the power of...Pulling Together in an unforgettable way.
