Inspirational Quote for Valentine's Day
Love is patient, love is kind
Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud
Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily
Love does not remember wrongs done against it
Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with truth
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
Love never fails
- from the movie A Walk to Remember

Running Tips
I've been receiving a few questions about how I stay motivated and committed to running so I thought I'd share them if it helps to motivate yourself.
1. Have a goal. Achieve a certain weight or train for a 5K, 10K, 1/2 or full marathon. This will help you work towards your goal. Here's a list of marathons coming up in Vancouver this year that I know of:
For a list of all the running events throughout BC this year click the following link: Run Events in BC for 2011
2. Have a running buddy or buddies. The more the better and merrier! The buddy system works best. In case someone can't make the run, you'll always have a back up! Keep in contact with each other constantly via email, texting, phone to help wake each other up for early morning runs, ensure the run is still scheduled and keep you motivated! Talking to your buddies while running also keeps your mind off the pain or the length of the run! Need to find some dedicated running buddies? Join the Running Room free group drop-in runs. They are usually scheduled 8:30am Sunday & 6:30pm Wednesday. The groups vary from walking to 5K to full marathon training runs groups. Running Room Run Club Locations.
3. Have the right gear. Here's my gear list that works for me for all types of weather. So no excuses for not running in the rain or snow! We live in Vancouver and we might as well make the best of it and don't let the weather ever get you down!

- Quality and comfortable running shoes
- Gloves to keep your hands warm for those chilly days
- Sports watch to time your runs and walks ie 10 & 1 (10 minutes of running & 1 minute of walking)
- Cap - to keep the rain/sun away from your face/head
- Beanie dry fit cap - keep your head and ears warm and dry during the colder weather
- Dry fit top, jacket, pants, shorts - dry fit material helps keep your body dry & warm from the rain and your sweat
Here are a few of my favorites:
Lots of great deals on running gear from either Amazon or Ebay. I find them sometimes almost 1/2 the price including taxes and shipping compared to retail stores. The only disadvantage is that you have to wait for it to get delivered to you. I can talk about running forever. This is just a bit of information to help get you started. If you would like more information, just ask! Happy running!

WOW Vancouver - Public Speaking Event
Do you have a fear of public speaking? If you do and want to overcome the fear or want to improve your public speaking skills, I absolutely recommend going to a club like Toastmasters. It's a great place to make new positive thinking friends that are in the same mind set of looking for self improvement and growth.
I find it so fascinating to watch and listen to someone preform an amazing speech that totally "wows" you. I myself just recently joined Toastmasters and I wish someone had pushed me to not fear going to it long ago when I first tried to join. As the quote says "it's never to late to start, it's always to late to wait". I feel fine at speaking to small groups or one on one with my clients, however, when it comes to prepared speeches and speaking in front of an audience without using my notes, I'm terrified! Public speaking is a very valuable and useful life skill to have that can open many opportunities. Just the other night I had the privilege to attend a WOW Vancouver event held by Toastmasters. I was pretty impressed with all the speakers preforming in front of a 250 person audience. It would totally recommend to attend this event the next time it comes around in your area. Very inspiring! It's free to attend for non-members too!
If you haven't heard of Toastmasters, it's a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve the communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. Here's a link to more information:
http://www.toastmasters.org
There's a club located pretty much everywhere. To find one in your area, you can click on this link.
http://reports.toastmasters.org/findaclub/I had the privilege to meet and watch Joe Roberts speak. He's known as the "Skid Row CEO". A person who was once homeless and a drug addict and now today an author, CEO and internationally sought after professional speaker who motivates and inspires audiences worldwide.
http://www.skidrowceo.com/about/I'm currently reading his book signed by him. Another great book to read!
Great deal on Amazon! You can buy it used for as low as a penny! Click the following link:

Awesome Little Girl Playing the Piano
I love classical piano music. I started to learn to play the piano without reading music and just by listening to the melody. However, I didn't get too far with my music lessons. This little girl who can play the piano is absolutely amazing though! A very touching story.

Life without Limits
There are so many amazing and extraordinary people in the world. Here's a clip of one of my favorite inspirational people to share.
His book is absolutely inspirational and recommend for everyone to read. Definately one of my favorite books. I found it a bit cheaper to buy online even with the shipping than going directly to the store. It's also available in the local library.

Goldenseal Herb
It's no fun being sick. It's difficult to carry on feeling positive when you are sick. Hopefully this herbal remedy that I can recommend (which I've been using myself for years) can help you feel better in no time and feeling absolutely positive again!
Goldenseal is like a natural antibiotic that kills bacteria without killing the good cells in your body. Here's a link to more information about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldenseal
I had to take this recently due to a mild case of food poisoning. I try to stay away from taking any medicines you buy from the drug stores these days. I'm more into the natural herbal remedies because I find them more effective and just overall better for you than taking something with chemical ingredients.
Goldenseal can actually cure many things but here are some conditions it can cure listed below:
Here's what the powder form looks like which I usually get. This stuff taste very bitter and it's not cheap but it works! You just add boiling water and drink it like tea or make it into a paste to apply to minor wounds or skin infections.
You can usually find it at some herbal health food stores. The only place I know of that carries it is called Sweets Cherubim Natural Food Store Bakery & Restaurant located on 1105 Commercial.
